I want to share the lyrics of a song which I translated and co-wrote with a very good friend of mine to his band named Wishkah. It can be a difficult style to understand or agree, because not everybody shares the same point of view about life.
But in my own case, i lived a critical moment with cops (i wasn´t in trouble, but one of my friends got injured and he had to rest a month in the hospital) so we decided to complain about the high abusive way to treat people that police have, not with fists, only with music
RIOT - WISHKAH
They enforced arrest with a blow
To his chest
And many more followed
That man
Folk shook their heads and said
We did:
What we had to do when in doubt
How can I conceive
That someone who fights
For human rights is
Knocked down? Oh no!
She is not an object
Fuck reactionaries
He is not the lesser
Alone they're better than you.
While the fallen folk are buried and their heads,
Children see it, they don’t believe it and they don’t understand.
Before that mob turned to see: how workers shout
And the unemployed relieve them with more strength.
How can I conceive
That someone who fights
For the humans right
Knocked down? Oh no!
We aren’t animals, but even they deserve
More respect than you, bastards!
If only we threatened to overthrow
your twisted way of life
Each blow has your signature … get out!
Riot police get out!
We only need protection from your arrogance
